Joel Friedlander of www.thebookdesigner.com dished some praise for the cover of Three Degrees From Justice. He called the cover a "winner" and said it "really works well."
Every month Joel Friedlander issues e-Book Cover Design Awards. For May 2013, Three Degrees From Justice got an honorable mention of sorts.
In the front pages of my book, the cover design is credited to Hubert Longfield. Yes, the fake name my friends and I used in high school and college. That was a tip-of-my-hat to all my friends who all gave me so much help and advice in creating the cover, and my inability to take credit for what had truly been a collaboration. Thanks Anderson, Catherine, Jimmy, Liz, Peggie, Reese, Roger and Sam.
I passed that story on to Friedlander, who writes: "Well John, or Hubert, or whatever name you’re using today, keep all those friends on speed dial, because you’ve produced a winner. Although I’d like to see the title larger, and I don’t think that would be difficult to do considering how much background you have, this really works well."
Cannot disagree with his advice. No changes to the speed dial, and I will explore a larger title for future editions. I want to find a way that doesn't require more crime scene tape on the cover.
Thanks Joel!
